Pickup Truck Gas
Cover on a Pickup truck save Gas?
Does covering the back of a pickup truck with a shell or tonneau cover save me some Gas?
I've had both...
On one truck (fullsize longbed) I had a soft roll-up tonneau cover. I did not notice any difference in mileage.
On my current truck (fullsize shortbed) I have a fiberglass cab-height camper shell. Highway only driving, I think it has improved my mileage but it is so minimal it is hard to say that it is the shell. I notice more between my street and offroad tires. Any gain that I am getting with the shell is probably being offset by the added weight.
A friend of mine had a soft tonneau on his fullsize shortbed and he couldn't tell a difference with his either.

Truck Bed Covers - Save Gas And Transform Your Truck
