3rd PlaceI competed in my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (grappling) tournament August 23rd in Davenport Iowa.  The tournament was the Sasquatch Open .  It was a great learning experience and I had a great time competing.  I ended up placing third in the 205 lbs and under novice gi division.  Des Moines Jiu Jitsu Academy where I train brought seven competitors and we took home five gold medals, one silver, and two bronze.  Even though we brought a small group we ended up taking first place in the team overall and received a team trophy.
